Put a book in
Search a title or import a local file. People, world, and style get sorted out, so you can continue, write fanfic, or start something new in that voice.
Browse and download
Open Browse novels from the tree on the right. Search a title or pick a popular book. NWriter saves the original chapters in source/chapters/. Those files stay as the original. The app cannot edit them.
- You can close the browse page while a download runs.
- A local .txt works the same way: split into chapters, then sort out settings.
- /novel import <path> starts the same job.
Settings fill in in the background
After the chapters are saved, a background job fills in the brief, world, style, craft, outline, timeline, threads, state, and characters. It is a job with a checklist, not a chat that reads a few chapters at a time.
- Watch the job row on the left. Pause or resume it there.
- If you quit halfway, reopen the folder and the same job continues.
- Wait until world, people, and style have real content before you continue, write fanfic, or start a new book in that voice.
