Keep writing

After the book is in, say continue. You can look at the next plot first, then turn it into a chapter.

Say continue

Type continue in the box. NWriter writes the next plot for you to read first. That draft lives in upcoming.md in the tree on the right (a discussion draft, not finished yet). It will not change the outline or write a chapter until you say the plot is good.

Unconfirmed. Xiao Yan tests a low-grade gathering pill behind the mountain. A cousin arrives with witnesses. Yao Lao wants the fight delayed until the pill settles. No chapter number yet.
Continue from where we left Xiao Yan.
NNWriter
I will design the next stretch in upcoming.md. No chapter prose until you confirm it.
  • Plain language works: continue, write the next part, what happens next.
  • Name a chapter (001, 1000) to talk about that chapter instead of an open-ended next plot.
  • Open upcoming.md in the tree if you want to read the draft on its own.

Then plan, then write the chapter

When you accept the plot, NWriter writes a chapter plan, then the chapter itself, then updates what is true now. Say write now if you want to skip the discussion.

  • Overwrite an existing chapter only when you say so.
  • Trust the files in the tree. Chat summaries are not a second copy of the book.

Check and revise

A continuity check only reads. It points at files. It does not change them. A revision tells you what would change, then waits until you ask before it overwrites a chapter. You can also use commands:

Xiao Yan is Dou Zhi Qi. Yao Lao is a remnant soul in the ring. The clan still treats Xiao Yan as a waste. Chapter 002 is on disk. The next plot is unconfirmed.
Continue from where we left Xiao Yan.

  • Ask it to check a range, or say what must change and then revise.
  • The usual order is still: look at the next plot, plan the chapter, then write it.
